THE COURSE

UNFORTUNATELY THIS SUMMER DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL, THERE WILL BE NO SUMMER COURSE THIS YEAR. HOWEVER, SKYPE TUITION WILL BE RUNNING AS NORMAL

We are running our December course, at West Middlesex University Hospital. We know from our own experience that most people want a course to give them as much practice time of CASC stations as possible. For this reason, we do no lectures that take up half a day etc. Instead we aim to incorporate all the information you get from a lecture into our discussions that occur within and after each scenario. Each weekend will be split into two days, solely based on maximising your practice and feedback time rather than lectures, covering a total of 54 stations over a weekend. We use small candidate groups allowing maximum participation and minimal observation.

COURSE DETAILS:

  • Single station days, you will take part directly in a minimum of 1 in 3 stations.
  • Linked station days, you will take part directly in 1 in 2 stations
  • Only professional actors are used on both days
  • You will be split into small groups of 3 or 4 for the entire day to ensure intense and personal coaching.
  • After each station there will be several minutes of discussion with the examiner about your performance and the station. Questions are encouraged at this point with your mini group.
  • Only two examiners are used per day, so that they can track and understand your strengths and weaknesses through the day.
  • We aim to do 54 stations per weekend (You will perform 22 of these).
  • Lunch and constant refreshments are provided.
  • Pre and post course phone and email support are available for any questions, difficulties etc you come across.
  • Excellent location near Heathrow Airport London and several major motorways, M25, M1, M3, M4, M40

The weekends will be split as follows:

The times are approximate as examiners may need to give longer more intense feedback on some stations and less on others depending on the performance of each candidate

Each station performed will be followed by several minutes of feedback from the examiner

You can choose to attend the whole weekend or concentrate on just one aspect of the exam by attending a single day. By holding the course on several weekends, you may also wish to attend a single day early on, go away and study by yourself and return for the second day in the following weekend. You are free to choose what ever you feel is best for you.

Each day will be at a cost of £350 per person and will be booked on a first come, first serve basis. If you wish to attend the course with your own study group e.g. if you and your colleagues are already studying in a group and wish to attend together then please contact us and we will be able to advise you if there are any dates for which we can do a private booking. We also offer a limited number of observer places at a cost of £125 per day (Observers see all the stations that Full participants see and are fully involved in questions and discussions).
